Life is going pretty well for San Francisco’s spazztastic band, Scissors
For Lefty. They successfully charmed Live 105's BFD crowd by opening
up at the main stage at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View
on June 9th, their debut album, Underhanded Romance, was released
a few days later on June 12th, and they performed an amazing CD release
show at San Francisco’s Independent this past Friday, June 15th.
The
atmosphere among the band and crowd was more than amazing-- it was
immense. The band, which includes three Garza’s and two Krimmels all
had smiles on their faces throughout their performance. The crowd
sure knew that SFL were quite proud of their success so far.
From
the opening song, Nickels and Dimes, to their kind-of-well-known song,
Ghetto Ways, the audience were jumping, dancing, and having a great
time. The band knows how to connect with the crowd as well.
Many bands
these days aren’t as close to their fans as SFL are. The band threw
red beach balls at people. Lead singer Bryan Garza stepped into the
audience and sung to people. Garza also wore a hat that a fan made
for him to wear for a song.
The only disappointment of the show was
the fact the band did not strip into their undies like the brothers
Bryan and Steve Garza did at Live 105's BFD. Once in a while you could
hear a girl say, “take it off!” after they finished performing a song.
Bryan Garza did, however, unzip his trousers and showed off his undies
for a few seconds.
Oh Bryan, you’re such a tease!
It wouldn’t be surprising
if these guys hit it big. They’ve got charisma, they’ve got the looks,
and they certainly can win hearts of audiences across the nation and
world. Also, citizens of San Francisco will finally have band they
can brag about.
