Mr Loveless Interview

What has been coined an almost surf-Goth sound the edgy SF East Bay band Mr. Loveless has independently recorded an album with a tour that will take them from the city of angels, to the biggest little city in the world.

1 So where did the whole 40s-inspired-women-hairdos-marketing thing come into to play?

Well, it's actually more of a 50's/early 60's influence. I think we've always found that era to be extremely influential in many aspects. I resent my parents for giving birth to me in the 80's.

2 Is Mr. Loveless strictly independent? What would be the reasons for taking or passing up a deal with and/ or signing with a record label?

We are independent. The only reason I could think of that would be a valid one for passing up a record deal would be if it entailed losing creative control of our music. Reasons for signing one? Distribution but I could settle for fame and fortune.

3 What goes through your heads when making songs and/or the process of recording them?

"Am I in tune? More reverb. Brilliant!"

4 Are you still on for the June 16 tour kick off date? Where are you hitting up?

The tour is still being organized currently. We are going to be in Southern California from June 16th to June 22nd. We are going to be heading North (Reno, Nevada, Salem, Oregon, Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington) from the 23rd to the 27th. Check our MySpace for more info. regarding that matter.

5 Is there any advice you have for the musicians of the SF Bay Area on how to get started?

Once you write a song, everything will make sense, or, it won't.

6 Are you staying in the Walnut Creek area? (besides touring)

Staying? You mean living here? Yeah, I suppose. We've talked about moving out to Oakland a few times. But, we play all over the bay area. Our next show is May 16th at Studio Z in San Francisco. Be there!

7 Anything else you’d like to say about music, life in general, about making yourself into something in this anguished world we live in , ect. speak now or forever hold your peace.
